Veneers
How Important is Your Smile?
99.7% of people say a smile is a social asset.
74% of people believe a bad smile hurts careers.
So What Are Veneers?
Cost of Veneers
Veneers are a custom procedure, so the cost will vary from one patient to the next. However, the restorations themselves are usually priced at $1,059 per tooth at our Vicksburg, MS, practice. While porcelain veneers do require an investment, especially if you are interested in treating several teeth, most patients find them worth the expense. There are no alternatives that give the same natural-looking and durable results, which can last well over a decade with proper care and maintenance. Furthermore, our practice accepts flexible financing through CareCredit® which can reduce your initial out-of-pocket expenses and make treatment costs much more manageable.

Consider a Full Smile Makeover
While porcelain veneers can achieve incredible smile transformations, they might not be able to fix all the concerns you have with your teeth. Sometimes, other techniques are needed to reach all your goals. Fortunately, Dr. Measells can combine multiple cosmetic and other procedures into a comprehensive treatment plan known as a smile makeover.
If you are already considering treatment with porcelain veneers, it is a good time to think about a comprehensive approach. A smile makeover can enhance your smile in fewer appointments than a series of individual treatments would require. This can also save you money on materials and sedation costs.

Maintaining Your New Smile
Be Careful What You Chew
While porcelain is strong, your dental veneers are not immune to cracks or damage under pressure. To avoid breaking them, don't bite down on anything particularly hard or sticky.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene
In general, your veneers should be cared for in the same way as your natural teeth. Brush twice daily and floss at least once each day to maintain your oral health.
Avoid Staining Your Teeth
To keep your smile a bright consistent shade of white, avoid foods and drinks that are known to stain the enamel. While your veneers are stain-resistant, your natural teeth are not. If you notice any discoloration down the line, we can correct the problem with occasional whitening treatments.
Should I Replace My Veneers?
While the porcelain veneers we craft and place for our Vicksburg patients are incredibly durable, dental veneers will need to be replaced after 7-15 years.
We’ve put together a list of some signs it’s time to pay us a visit for dental veneer replacement:
- Visible damage: Cracks, chips, and other visible damage are strong indicators that your dental veneers need to be replaced.
- They appear darker in color: While it may look like the veneer itself is taking on a darker hue as time goes on, it’s actually the cement holding your veneer in place that’s changing color. This will show through the porcelain or other material, making your teeth look darker.
- Underlying tooth decay: Dental veneers on teeth that have become decayed run the risk of becoming loosened and detached. Our Vicksburg dentist can remove your veneer, address the decay, and craft a new veneer for you.
