Affordable Dental Care

Many patients hesitate to address a missing tooth because they are afraid they can't afford treatment. Unfortunately, avoiding prompt treatment for a lost tooth can lead to more missing teeth and even bone loss.

To help our patients manage out-of-pocket expenses, we accept a variety of dental insurance plans and provide a number of flexible payment options,  like CareCredit® financing and a 5% discount for bills paid in cash.

Our friendly office staff will be glad to file all the necessary paperwork with your insurance provider so that you can make the most out of your benefits. Since a dental bridge is a restorative treatment, many insurance plans cover a significant portion of the cost.

Dental Bridge Treatment Timeline

The timeline for receiving a dental bridge depends on a number of factors. For patients considering an implant-supported bridge, treatment may take a year or longer depending on whether any preparatory procedures are required.

For a traditional dental bridge, treatment generally includes:

"We use advanced materials for beautifully lifelike results."
"We use advanced materials for beautifully lifelike results."

Initial Consultation

During your first visit, our dentist will examine your teeth and discuss your concerns and goals. Any outstanding issues such as gum disease or tooth decay will need to be treated before Dr. Measells can begin work on your new bridge.

Reshaping Abutment Teeth

Dr. Measells will resize the teeth on each side of your missing tooth or teeth to support the dental crowns that will make up part of your bridge.

Impressions

Next, Dr. Measells will take detailed impressions of your smile. This mold of your teeth will then be forwarded to our dental lab where your new bridge will be fabricated.

Temporary Bridge

Following impressions, Dr. Measells will place a temporary bridge over your prepared teeth while your new restoration is being made.

Fabrication

It takes about three weeks for a skilled technician to carefully craft your new dental bridge from the advanced IPS e.max material. Using guides provided by Dr. Measells, the ceramicist will apply hand-finished details so that your new bridge will integrate seamlessly into your smile.

Placement

Once we receive your new bridge back from the dental lab, you will return to our office where Dr. Measells will make any final adjustments to ensure your dental bridge fits perfectly.

Final Results

Once both you and Dr. Measells are happy with the fit of your permanent bridge, he will secure it in place with dental cement. You will leave our dental office ready to enjoy your fully restored smile. While no downtime is required, you may experience sensitivity in the treatment area for a couple of days. No need to worry though, this side effect generally resolves in a few days.

Watch the Secure Placement Of a Dental Bridge

Unlike traditional dentures, dental bridges easily stay in place. Dr. Measells will use dental cement or dental implants to secure the bridge and abutment teeth. This will allow the fake teeth, or pontics, to remain firmly in place as you eat, laugh, and talk.

How Long Do Dental Bridges Last?

While each case can vary, a general lifetime range for a dental bridge is about five to 10 years. You can do your part to ensure that your new bridge lasts as long as possible by practicing proper care.

Our dentist is also happy to guide you through the basics on bridge care, so that you will never be confused about maintaining your beautiful new smile.

Tips for Taking Care Of Your Dental Bridge

Consume Certain Foods Sparingly

Remember to eat mindfully. While your bridge is durable, it can last longer if you avoid certain types of sticky or hard food. Caramel and popcorn should be consumed sparingly after Dr. Measells replaces your bridge.

Keep up With Your Dental Hygiene

Just like your natural teeth, your pontics and abutment teeth will need to be flossed and brushed daily. If you have trouble knowing how long you've been brushing, consider a timed toothbrush, playing a two-minute song, or setting an alarm.

Contact Us If You Need Help

Have a question about your bridge? Worried you're not brushing properly? Notice some looseness? Our understanding team is always here for you if you need help — so please don't hesitate to reach out.
